When to Use PDF

Use PDF when you want a fixed, shareable snapshot: signed agreements, official forms, reports for distribution, or anything that should look identical for everyone and not be easily edited. PDFs are also common for e-books, manuals, and documents that need to be printed. They’re widely supported and don’t require the recipient to have Word. The downside is that editing is awkward—hence the need for PDF to Word conversion when you do need to make changes.
